Game Cartography

For over 20 years, I’ve been illustrating poster-sized maps for all sorts of games. Some of them are skirmish maps for miniatures games like Star Wars Miniatures (now long out of print) or Heroclix, some are area maps for roleplaying games, and some are add-on boards for various board games. Below are some of my favorites.
Mighty Maps
Printed and self-published through a venture with Matt Francella, these are 24×36″ maps with a 1.5″ grid, suitable for heroclix or any roleplaying game in a modern setting. Research included architectural floorplans, which were referenced when drawing out fictional buildings at the scale of 1-square = 5 feet to achieve a believable layout. Some features were exaggerated to better fit the map’s 1.5″ grid.

Armored Cartographers
Printed and self-published through a venture with Matt Francella, these are 34×22″ maps with a 1″ grid, originally made for the Star Wars Miniatures game by Wizards of the Coast in 2004. They have since found a longevity among roleplaying gamers using 28mm miniatures in almost any sci-fi setting.

Epic City Map
Designed as a series of 4 maps that could be combined in any orientation, this map is a massive 34×88″ (nearly 8 feet long) with a 1″ grid.
